Zakat is an institution established by Allah for the benefit of mankind.
It is well known that when a person becomes rich materially by accumulation of assets, he utilises labour to manage it.
The distribution of wealth is not always in proportion to the contrbution by each individual. This is natural.
Some sort of sacrifice and or contribution as well as support is needed and given by the poorer section of the society to maintain his wealth. Otherwise he will have neither labour nor a market to sustain and expand his wealth.
Zakath is THE equalising factor like an alpha in a scientific formula. It is a purifier of wealth like the final filter in any qualitative process.
In modern times of Information Technology, it is the debuging process.The anti virus software to remove harmful factors in ones wealth. It is Malware.
So if we don't practice it as we learn and earn, our wealth will definitely be subject to fatal viral infections.
We need to renew the license to enjoy, by paying just 2.5 % annually to Allah.
Sounds tough?
We at Al Kafaala Foundation have made it possible for many poor and needy to build houses, create career paths, learn new skills etc by this 2.5% of our money which really belong not to us but those sweating it our day after day far and wide, dreaming of a better tomorrow.
It is their which we need, Insha Allah
